This August bank holiday weekend sees the return of Liverpool’s favourite festival: International Beatles Week. For one whole week, select venues around the city will play host to talented acts honouring the Fab Four in the best way possible; with a lorra, lorra live music.
At Alma de Cuba we’re proud to have been chosen to host a special Peace and Love event during this year’s IBW, showcasing live acts both inside and out from midday on Friday the 23rd.
Here’s a round-up of what to expect from Peace and Love IBW 2019 at Alma de Cuba.
Without knowing it, an everlasting message of Peace and Love became permanently associated with The Beatles throughout their playing career, even though this was not what they set out to do when they began writing and performing their work.
Looking back at the legacy they had created; all the lads were thankful that they were able to bring people together under this banner. And who could have predicted the impact their work would have on people today.
The bands who will be paying tribute to The Beatles at Alma de Cuba this International Beatles Week will help bring home the feeling of Peace and Love that surrounds The Beatles, at a time when the world needs it most.
Expect to see a terrific line-up of the world’s top Beatles tribute acts, whose mission for the day will be to bring everyone together in peace and love during International Beatles Week.
A superb choice of venue, Alma de Cuba’s interior certainly provides the perfect acoustics from which to enjoy lots of live music. The converted church simply resonates a message of peace and love in both its evangelical past and the carnival culture the venue promotes today.
This August bank holiday weekend Beatles fans from all over the world will Come Together in celebration, under the lofty eaves of this ancient building.
Those who attend can ‘take a pew’ to see the performances in a number of private bar booths, watch from above in the mezzanine space or Twist and Shout to versions of the Fab Four’s most celebrated tracks on the dancefloor.
Gigs will be taking place in front of the famous Alma Altar and outside on the flamboyantly decorated decking. So, If the Rain Comes or it’s Here Comes the Sun, all the Beatles fans attending the Peace and Love event at Alma de Cuba can enjoy loads of live music all day long.
If there’s anything that’s sure to bring people together, it’s great music, fabulous food and delicious drinks.
All of this will be available in spades at Alma de Cuba’s Peace and Love event this bank holiday Friday.
Choose your dishes from a huge selection of Cuban inspired cuisine including terrific tapas, kebabs and flavours that certainly pack a punch.
The drinks menu at Alma de Cuba won’t disappoint either as our gifted bar team will be whipping up Alma’s renowned cocktail creations and concoctions all day long.
Just one of the amazing Liverpool events venues that will be playing host to a terrific part of the IBW celebrations this year, Alma de Cuba is excited and proud to celebrate and honour the band that did so much for the city and its musical heritage.
